fix(mobile): send hosted relay auth with iOS custom emoji downloads (#9056)
On iOS, custom emoji in the native emoji picker often render as the sparkle fallback icon instead of the image. The native picker downloads custom emoji with `URLSession` and asks Flutter for request headers over the `mediaHeaders` channel call. That call returned only the media read `Authorization` header. Hosted relays also require the `Nostr-Federated-Identity` assertion, which the Flutter image path gets from `HostedRelayHttpClient`, so relay-hosted emoji get a 401 and the picker falls back to sparkles. Emoji hosted elsewhere still load, which is why only some are missing. The `mediaHeaders` bridge now also includes the hosted relay assertion via a new `HostedRelayAuth.headersForUrl`, scoped to the relay's own origin like `HostedRelayHttpClient`. The native loader refuses redirects for requests that carry the assertion, matching the Dart client, so the token can't be forwarded to another host. The iOS reactions sheet had the same gap: it passes avatar and custom emoji URLs to native views with only the `Authorization` header. A new `nativeMediaHeadersProvider` combines both headers for any native media consumer, and the reactions sheet uses it. ### Validation - Added tests: the native picker's `mediaHeaders` call returns the relay assertion for relay media and no headers for an external emoji URL; `headersForUrl` returns the assertion only for the relay origin (not another host, subdomain or port). The reactions sheet passes the combined headers for avatars and custom emoji, and `nativeMediaHeadersProvider` merges both headers only for relay URLs. - Focused existing validation: the emoji picker and organization relay auth suites pass, and `flutter analyze` is clean. In the full mobile suite, the only failures are 10 in `notification_toggle_test`, `push_bootstrap_test` and `push_bridge_test`, and they fail the same way on `main`. - Automated full-app simulator run (iPhone 17 Pro, iOS 27, debug build of this branch with hosted auth enabled, signed in to two hosted communities through a cloned simulator keychain, driven with AXe). Covered: launch signed in, channel and DM lists, opening a channel and a DM, the native emoji picker (its Custom section shows the emoji as an image, not the sparkle fallback), sending a custom emoji message and seeing it render, reacting with the custom emoji (shown in the quick-reaction row and as a reaction pill), opening a thread, switching communities, avatars and community icons, background and resume, and a cold relaunch. Result: no crashes or regressions seen. Screenshots are omitted because they show real account and community names. - Limitations: this run does not reproduce the original bug. The hosted community's custom emoji also loaded in a temporary build with the relay assertion removed from the `mediaHeaders` bridge, so its emoji URL evidently doesn't need the assertion, and the run doesn't prove the fix. The reactions detail sheet could not be reached because simulated long presses on the pill opened the message menu, and inline image attachments were not exercised. A device build against a community whose emoji are relay-hosted is still needed to confirm the fix. 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) --------- Signed-off-by: Tom Brow <tomb@squareup.com> Co-authored-by: Tom Brow <tomb@squareup.com> Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: studio <dc2fc481343672df31a689840c09299972e704dac592e0da6f18486646a7ee3e@buzz.block.builderlab.xyz> |

Mobile: one New chat screen (#9079)
Mobile had two New chat screens. [#8884](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/8884) made the Flutter draft page (first send creates and names the chat) the New chat screen, but kept the older create form (a native iOS sheet, with a Flutter bottom sheet on Android) for one case: resuming a creation that an older build had saved with a chat name and no first message. Nothing creates that state anymore, so the old form only appeared for users with an interrupted creation from before that change. This removes the old form. Every New chat, including that resume case, now opens the draft page: - **New chat**: unchanged. - **Resuming an interrupted creation**: after the existing Resume / Discard setup / Later prompt, the draft page shows the saved chat with its agent and workspace locked and a Retry button, the same choices the old sheet offered when it locked its fields. A creation saved with a first message resumes exactly as before. One saved without a message finishes without one, because a saved creation can't change after its first relay write. The iOS editor's chat-only code (`presentChat`, `updateChatAssistants`, the agent list, and its avatar loader) goes too. The same editor still handles profile fields, channel details and workspace names. The native test and CI step that covered only the removed chat form are removed. ### Screenshots Resuming an interrupted creation saved without a first message: | Before: old native sheet (removed) | After: draft page (kept) | | --- | --- | | <img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/block/buzz/5d0a502e92fc3dfeffbe4fa95d63ba8f73d1e612/pr-9079--01-before-resume-native-sheet.png" width="300"> | <img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/block/buzz/5d0a502e92fc3dfeffbe4fa95d63ba8f73d1e612/pr-9079--02-after-resume-draft-page.png" width="300"> | A brand new chat already opened the draft page and is unchanged: <img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/block/buzz/5d0a502e92fc3dfeffbe4fa95d63ba8f73d1e612/pr-9079--03-new-chat-draft-page.png" width="300"> ### Validation - Changed tests: `me_page_test` checks that Resume and Discard setup both open the draft page and that no native sheet is requested. `solo_creation_tags_test` checks that recovering an interrupted named creation through the draft page's Retry continues with member setup, keeps the saved name and agent, and adds no first message. - Full mobile Flutter suite (4,431 passed) and `flutter analyze` (clean). iOS debug simulator build succeeds. - Automated simulator run (iPhone 17 Pro, iOS 27, signed-in account): New chat opened the draft page, the agent picker selected an agent, and the first send created the chat, which then appeared under Solo. New workspace still opened the native editor, enabled Create once named, and showed the Discard changes prompt on cancel. The recording isn't attached here because it shows internal account content. - Resuming an interrupted pre-[#8884](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/8884) creation can't be produced by the current build. For the screenshots above, a capture-only, uncommitted patch to a `main` build seeded one; the branch build installed over it resumed it on the draft page. The widget tests cover finishing it. - `solo_creation_tags_test` also covers a conflicting pending Solo organization edit during that Retry: the draft offers the Conflicting Solo changes dialog, keeps the saved creation, and the next Retry finishes it. 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) buzz-review-completed --------- Signed-off-by: Tom Brow <tomb@squareup.com> Co-authored-by: Tom Brow <tomb@squareup.com> Co-authored-by: studio <dc2fc481343672df31a689840c09299972e704dac592e0da6f18486646a7ee3e@buzz.block.builderlab.xyz> Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

Modernize mobile channel and DM creation sheets (#8942)
Modernizes New Channel and New DM with full-height forms and X/Create or X/checkmark actions. iOS uses UIKit sheets throughout; Android uses the Flutter fallback. Channel menus default to Ongoing/Public, and native menu previews lift only the trailing value while labels stay fixed. Channel names disable automatic capitalization, autocorrect, and spellcheck; both platforms use descriptive placeholders. Preserves recipient search and limits, creation error retries, and navigation after native dismissal. Validation: 4,154 mobile tests passed (38 skipped), auxiliary suites and static checks passed; iOS device/simulator and Android builds passed. Exercised menus, dismissal, DM search and selection in the simulator and Android form behavior on Pixel; iPhone UI tested and approved by the author. | iOS native form (Simulator) | Android Flutter form (Pixel) | | --- | --- | | | | Native menu with the left label fixed: --------- Signed-off-by: kenny lopez <klopez4212@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: Terp <5856f6900e8e0a4e0ea1f4f8d2ee33e4753d2119bc122f94ecafc660b46c0511@buzz.block.builderlab.xyz> |

chore(mobile): delete dead code with no remaining UI path (#8880)
## Summary Deletes mobile code that no longer has a user-reachable path and has no counterpart in buzz-app, so it is unlikely to come back for parity. Net: 104 files, about 5,500 lines removed. No intended behavior change. - **iOS native message menu and action surface:** `NativeMessageMenu.swift` and `NativeMessageActionSurface.swift`, the `message`/`supportsMessage` coordinator branches, and the Dart selection hook. Dart stopped creating this view in [#8280](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/8280). The native reactions sheet in the same coordinator is kept. - **Old home quick-actions launcher and `ComposeMorphIcon`:** only instantiated in tests since the nav-bar creation actions replaced them. - **Retired local theme stack:** `ThemeNotifier`, `AccentNotifier`, `SchemeNotifier`, `adaptive_theme.dart`, `AccentPickerPage`, the appearance-mode sheet and their helpers. These predate per-community theme sync. The legacy prefs migration in `community_theme_preference.dart` is kept. - **Unused widgets:** `ProfileAvatar` and `MaskedAvatarBadge`. - **Push permission-status plumbing:** the iOS `notificationAuthorizationStatus`/`openNotificationSettings` handlers, plus the uncalled strict age-gate snapshot registration and its Swift `syncAgeGatePushSnapshot` path. - **Orphaned files** with no importer: `profile_text_edit_sheet`, `editor_option_button`, `retained_page_transition`, `tappable_flapping_bee`, `agent_model_info`, `community_bot_profiles`, `sheet_divider`, `success_haptic`. - **Uncalled helpers:** the `pickAndUpload*`/camera helpers in `media_upload.dart`, unused `NostrFilters` builders, `mediaGetHeadersFor*`, and about 20 other uncalled functions, providers and styles. - **Removed-UI leftovers:** the never-wired invite directory providers, `AuthNotifier.signOut` and `removeActiveCommunityForSignOut` (the Sign out row is gone), `renameCommunity`, `HomePage.profilePageBuilder`/`SettingsPage.embedded`, and the create-forum branches of the create-channel sheet. Forum viewing is unchanged. Tests that only covered deleted code are removed. Tests of surviving code that used deleted helpers as drivers were repointed to the surviving API. An audit of `mobile/android` found no dead Kotlin, resources, manifest entries or Gradle dependencies, so Android code is unchanged. ## Validation - `flutter analyze`: no issues. - After rebasing onto main ([ |

Standardize mobile navigation edges (#8895)
Standardizes mobile navigation headers: Android uses Home’s shared Flutter blur; iOS uses native soft edges, with graduated material retained during large-title collapse and the iOS 26 fallback preserved. Preserves Home’s upward title motion with a soft boundary and keeps the avatar crop title visible. Validation: 4,112 Flutter tests and 111 native tests passed after merging main. Rendered partial-scroll regression verified on the iOS 27 simulator; removing either review fix fails its regression assertion. The earlier preview was installed on a physical iPhone with the existing profile. --------- Signed-off-by: kenny lopez <klopez4212@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: Terp <5856f6900e8e0a4e0ea1f4f8d2ee33e4753d2119bc122f94ecafc660b46c0511@buzz.block.builderlab.xyz> |

fix(mobile): keep toasts above native navigation and sheets (#8866)
## Summary Keep mobile toasts above navigation and modal sheets with an app-level overlay and a tiny transparent iOS composition boundary. Preserve Retry, automatic dismissal, and taps on underlying controls. ### Related issue No duplicate found in the toast issue/PR search. ### Testing Full mobile tests and analysis pass; iOS simulator and device builds succeed. Verified layering, Retry, dismissal, and underlying taps in a native simulator preview; human confirmed on iPhone with their existing profile/community. Broader repository checks are in progress. fix(mobile): wait for app activation before browser auth (#8647)
## Summary Opening an invite from Safari can deliver the login request while iOS still considers Buzz inactive. `ASWebAuthenticationSession.start()` then returns false, showing a connection error until the user retries. Wait for app activation before starting the retained session, with a ten-second timeout and cancellation cleanup. Extract the existing browser-auth bridge from the size-limited AppDelegate and add one native journey test through its Flutter method channel. URL validation, callback fencing, and normal active-app login retain their existing behavior. Temporary diagnostic logging and generated dependency changes are excluded. ### Related issue No duplicate found in the open handoff/authentication search. Related invite-consent work: #8601; this fixes the subsequent iOS authentication presentation race. ### Testing - Focused `RunnerTests/BrowserAuthBridgeTests` passed on an iPhone 18 Pro / iOS 27 simulator. Covers inactive handoff, cancellation before activation, retry, duplicate activation notifications, and immediate active-app start. - A local build reproduced the original inactive-app `start=false` failure; the fixed build opened authentication on the first background-to-app attempt. The same fixed build subsequently completed an existing-account staging flow. - Mutation check passed in isolated source, Git metadata, and build outputs: clean control passed; bypassing the production activation wait failed the inactive-handoff assertion; restored source passed again, with its SHA-256 verified against the committed file. - Self-review found no blocking issue. CI and final review remain pending. Mandatory pre-commit and pre-push hooks passed, including mobile analysis and the hook-run Flutter suite. No full local suite was manually invoked. - Human acceptance: from Safari, tap **Accept invite in Buzz** and confirm sign-in opens on the first attempt without **Try again**. Final acceptance of this PR remains pending. The separately reported callback failure may have involved production rather than staging. That cause is unconfirmed and is outside this change. Polish mobile onboarding and profile setup (#8438)
Originally stacked on #8375, now merged. Rebased onto main. Polishes the onboarding landing page, community-link entry, and recovery sheets. Profile setup uses a consistent sheet with a larger avatar, inline display name, and draft photo/emoji/animated editing; iOS uses native controls and coordinated avatar/sheet transitions. Validation: mobile analysis, full tests, and normal pre-push checks passed after rebase. Prior iOS build and device walkthrough passed; native validation was not repeated after this rebase. Snapshots omitted as requested. --------- Signed-off-by: kenny lopez <klopez4212@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Tom Brow <tomb@block.xyz> Co-authored-by: Terp <5856f6900e8e0a4e0ea1f4f8d2ee33e4753d2119bc122f94ecafc660b46c0511@buzz.block.builderlab.xyz> Co-authored-by: Tom Brow <tomb@block.xyz> |

feat(mobile): account onboarding, key recovery and hosted reconnect (#8375)
## Behavior Adds optional mobile Builderlab sign-in, identity backup/recovery, community discovery/creation, and account-aware reconnect. **Builderlab features are disabled by default:** when `BUZZ_AUTH_DOMAINS` is unset or empty, account login, creation, backup/recovery, reconnect prompts, and background account restoration are hidden/disabled. QR/code pairing, links, and invites retain Nostr-only entry. Saved account state is retained for later opt-in. `--dart-define=BUZZ_AUTH_DOMAINS=communities.buzz.xyz,communities.public.builderlabstaging.xyz` opts those DNS domains and their subdomains into required account setup. The same policy gates pairing, deep links, durable community admission, and reconnect. A nonempty list enables Builderlab features; `BUZZ_BUILDERLAB_URL` alone does not. Enabled flows still require their backend services. Existing Nostr relay authentication remains mandatory. `BUZZ_HOSTED_RELAY_AUTH=true` enables scoped relay assertions and reconnect prompts only for configured authentication domains. Configure assertion issuance and each community's issuer binding before enabling assertions; enable relay enforcement last. Account credentials stay at Builderlab. Wrong-account recovery preserves keys; failed writes are not replayed; authentication is bounded by request deadlines. Hosted flows preserve keys across cancellation/restart, reconcile interrupted creation/invitation acceptance, and support manual nsec file import/export. Account identities are scoped to backend and authenticated subject; reusing an existing local key for an unbound account requires an explicit selection. Recovery reconciles the advertised and recovered inventories before automatic selection. Successful self-hosted admission retires its pending key, and iOS startup removes interrupted export files. Adds authenticated relay `GET /operator/communities/joined` for the companion Builderlab membership endpoint. ## Validation - Follow-up review repair at `66a12ac92`: self-hosted entry presents readable choices and import despite incomplete enumeration, while generation still requires a complete empty inventory; explicit selection uses exact-key lookup. Consuming a value-equal duplicate now advances dispatch. Reconnect requires an existing account binding or a subject-scoped backup receipt before signing an assertion, and pins the subject inside the serialized account request. An empty different account is refused without sending key proof. Focused checks: configured domains 58 passed; default 49 passed, 9 hosted-only skips. Separate isolated mutations fail the incomplete-inventory sheet, exact-key reuse, duplicate dispatch and reconnect journeys (including an empty-account-only bypass); restored controls pass. Evidence uses synthetic storage/network boundaries, not physical Android or live backend association. All mandatory commit/push hooks passed; fresh GitHub CI is pending. - Bounded review repair at `d3cc0003f`: incomplete secure-storage enumeration now blocks automatic identity generation while explicit known-key reads retain their fallback; declined/failed onboarding links release the queue; HTTP 429/5xx keeps Retry regardless of response encoding. Default app-gate coverage exercises a bind link followed by ordinary community entry. Focused checks: configured domains 47 passed; default 38 passed, 9 hosted-only skips. Removing the three production fixes in an isolated source/Git/build copy fails the identity-resolution, declined/failed queue, and Retry journey assertions; clean and restored controls pass. Storage and HTTP failures are synthetic; physical Android and live outage behavior were not exercised. Published after all mandatory commit/push hooks passed (mobile analysis/tests, branch-skew and file-size gates); fresh GitHub CI remains pending. - Existing whole-PR source review cleared the reconnect defects at `fb15d5b82`. - Domain-policy increment: focused environment, entry, app-gate, pairing and onboarding journeys pass with empty and configured domains. Existing pairing provider/page tests pass. Changed Dart files analyze cleanly. - Isolated source/Git/build mutation: forcing paired credentials through hosted login fails the default-build journey; clean and restored controls pass. CI now runs configured-domain journeys in addition to the default-build suite. - Integrated main through `5b433d929` at `0067c069c`, including its pinned Flutter upgrade. Preserved the PR welcome UI with the updated transition API and added Material surfaces around onboarding selection/consent rows. Focused post-merge runs pass in both configurations; all mandatory local push gates passed (mobile analysis/tests, Rust tests, desktop-native checks, branch-skew and file-size checks). - Merge-review repair at `a315bce11`: focused identity/storage/admission and widget journeys pass, including account switching with an empty or already-bound second account, explicit reuse, and self-hosted removal/rejoin with another key. Default-domain journeys pass too (hosted-only cases intentionally skip there). - Isolated source/Git/build mutation checks: bypassing account scoping, reuse consent, pending-key retirement, or recovery inventory reconciliation fails the relevant journey/invariant assertions; clean and restored controls pass. - Native `RunnerTests/IdentityFilePluginTests`: both tests pass on the iPhone 18 Pro iOS 27 simulator with an isolated app identifier. At `24a0dcaac`, the picker journey seeds residue in Library/Caches, matching path_provider_foundation, and verifies plugin startup removes it while preserving an unrelated file. The earlier tmp-only fixture did not exercise the actual export location. This is synthetic native cleanup/picker evidence, not a real terminated-share or live account round trip. - Follow-up: Caches and tmp cleanup; fallback to individually known identity slots when Android bulk enumeration fails; explicit replacement of a refused self-hosted key preserves its original before swapping the retry slot. Configured-domain journeys/invariants: 34 passed; default: 31 passed, 3 hosted-only skips. Isolated enumeration/retry mutations fail with passing controls. Bulk-read fallback preserves but cannot enumerate arbitrary other-account slots until bulk reads recover. - Configured-domain CI exposed a stale pairing-status assertion after account scoping. The repaired test checks the admission mismatch, preserved account/transfer keys, and no admitted community. The configured-domain CI selection passes locally (56 tests); removing the production mismatch guard fails the updated test, with clean/restored controls passing. This is synthetic coordinator evidence, not physical QR acceptance. - Final review repair (`40e1e6101`): native iOS export creation uses atomic complete file protection; normal and restart cleanup remain. Account/policy/claim HTTP uses one 30-second total deadline with request abort and body cancellation. Removed the unrelated NIP-FA spec edit. - Focused account/admission/export tests: 25 pass; configured-domain account/admission/onboarding journeys: 33 pass. Isolated deadline and native-dispatch mutations fail, with passing clean/restored controls. Native export/picker tests: 2 pass on iOS 27 simulator. The real file-protection attribute assertion is physical-device-only because simulator provides no Data Protection attribute; locked-device protection and interrupted real sharing have not been observed. - Opt-in UI: configured-domain CI selection passes (57 tests); default selection passes (7 tests, 10 hosted-only skips); URL-only plus whitespace/empty domains passes (6 tests, 9 hosted-only skips). Changed Dart files analyze cleanly. Independent mutations that unconditionally initialize the coordinator in the app gate, welcome entry, or link form fail the default journey; clean/restored controls pass. - Native welcome screens exercised on iPhone 18 Pro / iOS 27 simulator in default and configured builds: default exposes community link / QR / pairing code only; configured build additionally exposes Builderlab connection and community creation. No live hosted login was exercised in this check. - Delivery at `e48fe73a9`: all mandatory push hooks passed (full mobile analysis/tests, Rust tests, desktop-native checks, branch and file-size checks). GitHub checks had not yet populated at the immediate post-push snapshot. ## Review disposition | Feedback | Disposition | | --- | --- | | Explicit self-hosted entry under unreadable inventory, duplicate invite dispatch, reconnect cross-account binding ([entry](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/8375#discussion_r4318421622), [queue](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/8375#discussion_r4318421640), [reconnect](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/8375#discussion_r4318455512)) | Repaired at `66a12ac92`; evidence above. Reconnect refuses unproven ownership rather than silently establishing a binding. | | Incomplete Android identity inventory, stranded deep-link queue, transient HTTP retry classification ([review](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/8375#pullrequestreview-5576864143)) | All three repaired in `d3cc0003f`; focused journeys and isolated mutation evidence above. | | Account cross-link, incomplete recovery inventory, committed invite checkpoint, pending local key retirement/replacement | Repaired in the preceding commits; journey and mutation evidence above. | | iOS interrupted key export ([review](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/8375#pullrequestreview-5575253252)) | Native cleanup plus complete protection at creation implemented. Physical-device lock and real interrupted sharing acceptance remains pending. | | Trickle responses bypass idle timeout; unrelated NIP-FA edit ([review](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/8375#pullrequestreview-5575764556)) | Total request deadline/abort implemented; spec edit removed. | | Production domains rejected | Ordinary entry now needs no Builderlab configuration. Opt-in account-required domains must still use supported community mappings. | | Lost Android Keystore recovery | Backup exclusions prevent the reviewed stale-restore scenario; genuine key loss still has no in-app recovery/reset and remains deferred. | | Native secp256k1 dependency question | Obsolete against the current base: upstream C integration landed in #8398; no package diff remains here. | | Operator membership endpoint contract | Documentation now states the operator chooses the pubkey; no end-user session binding is implied. Additional handler-level coverage is optional follow-up. | | Optional Android partial document cleanup/activity retention; local work after backup cancellation | Follow-up hardening, not claimed implemented. Cancellation prevents remote backup upload. | | Semgrep crypto inventory notices | Informational inventory, not demonstrated defects. | ## Remaining draft gates Native QR/browser-return acceptance remains unverified for this revision. Optional Builderlab onboarding still needs backend backup-status and joined-community routes, recovery policy/configuration, and real backup/recovery/reconnect acceptance. The empty-domain build removes these services as prerequisites for ordinary pairing; it does not make the optional hosted flows backend-ready. Human acceptance and current CI are still required before merge. Review dispositions retained: production auth-domain configuration must use supported community mappings; enabling `builderlab.xyz` does not add support for `buzz.block.builderlab.xyz`. Recovery after genuinely losing an Android Keystore key remains a follow-up, not a newly implemented capability. Human acceptance steps: build once without `BUZZ_AUTH_DOMAINS` (including with a previously saved account) and confirm no Builderlab controls/restoration while ordinary link and QR/code entry work. Build with supported domains and confirm connection/creation appear; exercise browser return and live backup/recovery/reconnect. On physical iOS, exercise export and interrupted sharing/locked-device protection. Record results before marking review complete. --------- Signed-off-by: Wes <wesbillman@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Brain <1a02c72794dcd0f07058a353bc3a81f4028b8c77c92c87fce6d5c8b85970a20b@buzz.block.builderlab.xyz> Co-authored-by: Brain <1a02c72794dcd0f07058a353bc3a81f4028b8c77c92c87fce6d5c8b85970a20b@wes.communities.public.builderlabstaging.xyz> |

feat(mobile): polish Home navigation and Solo workspace (#8393)
## Summary Polish mobile Home and Solo: group Search/Inbox beside a separate profile avatar, move Inbox and Settings to bottom-up pages with Close controls, and place tabs opposite the plus/compose action. Morph plus to compose clockwise when entering Solo and reverse counterclockwise when returning Home, with a directional quarter-turn of the icon inside a level button and a subtle scale pulse, respecting reduced motion. Align Search’s Close control with Inbox, simplify its placeholder, and initialize selected filter contrast correctly. Collapse the plus menu when leaving Home. Center Solo’s native-glass New chat empty state and keep it stationary behind the keyboard. Standardize Tabler icons and neutral backgrounds, retain SF Back/Close on iOS, use native Liquid Glass headers, tab container, and actions (solid grey selected tab, slightly darker on iOS) on iOS and black actions on Android, and smooth the expanded menu corners. Repair native header safe-area/return layout and compose movement after cancellation. ### Related issue None found for this UI refinement; follows #8337. ### Testing - Formatting, analysis, full mobile suite: 3,487 passed, 4 skipped; 3 push-configuration tests passed. File-size checks passed. - Base UI built and installed on Pixel and iPhone in place. Pixel navigation/New chat cancellation checked. Subsequent glass and rotation refinements are previewed on iPhone; motion feel awaits human confirmation. - Draft pending human confirmation of the final Settings entrance/return behavior on iPhone. ### Pixel snapshots | Solo | Expanded actions | | --- | --- | | <img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/block/buzz/16dc0f8af971e63d788fee20974997fab925dec9/docs/screenshots/mobile-home-solo/pixel-solo.png" width="280" alt="Solo empty state with New chat" /> | <img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/block/buzz/16dc0f8af971e63d788fee20974997fab925dec9/docs/screenshots/mobile-home-solo/pixel-actions.png" width="280" alt="Expanded channel actions with smooth corners" /> | --------- Signed-off-by: kenny lopez <klopez4212@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: Terp <5856f6900e8e0a4e0ea1f4f8d2ee33e4753d2119bc122f94ecafc660b46c0511@buzz.block.builderlab.xyz> |

Use upstream C secp256k1 for native Nostr signatures (#8398)
Replace the Swift secp256k1 wrapper with a small native adapter over Bitcoin Core libsecp256k1. This is an alternative to the wrapper upgrade in [#8381](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/8381), not an additional change to merge alongside it. The adapter covers the three Nostr operations Buzz needs: x-only public-key derivation, BIP-340 signing, and signature verification. It compiles pinned, unmodified upstream C source through SwiftPM. There is no build plugin, plugin approval script, or underscored Swift import. The app and notification extension use an explicit C module map and header search path. This trades the third-party Swift wrapper for a Buzz-owned adapter and responsibility for updating the vendored C source. Upstream v0.8.0 source, its license, and update provenance are included. The release Xcode pin remains separate in [buzz-releases#110](https://github.com/squareup/buzz-releases/pull/110). ### Validation - Native package tests passed on Xcode 27.0 and 26.5: 96 XCTest tests and 65 Swift Testing tests per toolchain. - Added tests cover the official BIP-340 vectors for 32-byte Nostr messages, invalid secret keys, and malformed input lengths. - Full unsigned Release app and notification extension build passed on exact Xcode 27.0. - Vendored files were compared byte-for-byte with upstream v0.8.0. - Full local `just ci` passed. - [Hosted full unsigned iOS Release build](https://github.com/block/buzz/actions/runs/38924020583/job/117051237094) passed. [Hosted Native Swift validation](https://github.com/block/buzz/actions/runs/38924020583/job/117051237153) passed, including the complete simulator build and native controls/push navigation tests. - Codex code review and security review completed with no findings. ### Before merge - [x] Tom selected the direct-C approach with vendored upstream source; [the wrapper alternative](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/8381) is closed. Bring synced Solo chats and projects to mobile (#8337)
## Summary Bring desktop Solo chats and project organization to mobile, with synced collapsible sections, shared unread highlights and tab badges, agent selection, shared search, native iOS creation sheets, and inline typing bubbles that transition into replies. Resolve Solo placement for every chat entry route, retain encrypted organization snapshots for offline reading, and let users resume or discard unfinished chat and project setup without deleting existing messages. ### Related issue Related: #6565; expandable agent transcripts remain separate work. ### Testing - Fresh Solo read state seeds each active chat from its captured initial last-message timestamp before exposing row/section/tab unread state. Baselines survive intervening channel updates and reset across identity/community boundaries while surviving read-state readiness changes. Regressions cover multiple chats, events before read-state readiness and during/after seeding, and identity changes; removing either the seed or the display gate fails them. - Chat completion reconciles a retained Solo-save journal even when placement is already confirmed. False/throwing cleanup regressions ensure the outer intent remains until reconciliation and only one placement is published. Typing terminal-close loops remain bounded; the retry budget resets after an uninterrupted eight-second health interval or transport reconnect. - Typing retry budgets reset after sustained recovery; invalid Solo updates retain cached rows with a retry warning that survives failed refreshes. Project names use the editors’ 120-grapheme limit, including emoji and combining characters. Regression coverage exercises repeated recovery, invalid live/refresh heads, and character-limit boundaries. - Rebased onto current main, preserving the newer Search controls, Huddle timeline filtering, and message-media layout. - Failed project journal writes reload storage before claiming recovery and reopen the entered name for retry. Typing subscription rejections are caught; terminal closures clear stale indicators and retry with a bounded backoff, canceled on disposal. Regression tests cover both false/throwing storage writes and initial/late subscription rejection. - Explicit ordinary destinations skip optional Solo lookup waits. Generic destinations perform one bounded lookup in the destination (search no longer duplicates it); an unavailable classification falls back to ordinary sending per the product owner's explicit choice. Positively identified Solo destinations use Solo providers. - Terminal Solo subscription closure preserves cached rows and exposes live-update Retry. Page coverage verifies warning visibility, usable rows during recovery, and a subsequent terminal close. Removing the warning or the immediate ordinary-route guard fails its regression. - Generic channel entries share an ordinary default when Solo classification is unavailable, per the requested product behavior. Known Solo placement takes precedence; callers can explicitly require unresolved placement to remain blocked. Bounded initial lookup preserves known Solo deep-link routing. - Dirty newest snapshots and offline-save warnings survive transport reconnects; Retry persists that same event even if the relay returns an older head. Community changes replace the service, and agent-directory reconnect refresh remains intact. - Pending-save discard reloads failed removals. Repeated reconnect testing confirms typing subscriptions are released on provider rebuild and disposal; removing the existing cleanup fails the regression. - Ordinary Home/create routes explicitly preserve private-channel sending during Solo failures; identified Solo sends use the Solo sender and explicit unresolved routes remain fail-closed. Solo unread replies beyond the initial 200-event page are loaded through the oldest-unread boundary. - Chat/project/agent cleanup reloads failed removals, retains same-process recovery, and protects replaced records. False/throw regressions verify retries do not duplicate creation or membership. Route, unread, and cleanup guard-removal mutations each fail their regression. - Ordinary channels, DMs, and forums remain sendable when optional Solo sync fails; explicit unresolved placement stays blocked. Controlled cache races retain the newest verified snapshot, keep usable chats visible, and retry offline persistence without stale writes. Both protection-removal regressions fail as expected. - Confirmed journal cleanup checks false/throwing removal and exact-record identity. Interrupted agent choices are visible immediately, identify the saved agent, and cover Resume/Later/Discard with accessible name/key-fallback controls. - Notification deep links preserve the contiguous history cursor; same-second messages infer the newest agent consistently. Failed offline-cache writes surface Retry, with false/throwing storage failures and offline restart covered. - Composite history cursors cover 350 same-second events plus older history; removing the ID cursor makes the regression fail. Agent changes now journal before granting access, with restart/failure and Resume/Later/Discard widget coverage. Signed malformed profiles remain isolated. - Native iOS avatar tests passed on the simulator: visible-row loading, three-request concurrency, streamed byte limits, response validation, downsampling/pixel limits, cancellation, and visible avatar updates. - Solo and Home share observed-event/read-marker logic. Widget coverage verifies unread rows, collapsed-section indicators, the tab badge before first Solo visit, message/thread reads, forced unread, and filtering archived/nonmember/unplaced chats. - Chat intent is saved before ownership and organization preflight; tests cover interrupted ownership lookup and a disconnect while the native creation form is open. - Mobile analysis, formatting, file-size checks, and full mobile tests passed at `1d4c41354`. - Project creation persists its encrypted name/UUID before connectivity checks or relay reads. Restart tests cover Resume/Later/Discard, scope isolation, stale-intent rejection, and lost acknowledgements. Removing the pre-network save makes all four production-flow regressions fail. - Regression coverage includes notification/Activity routing, inline replies, unknown-placement send protection, restart recovery/discard, and encrypted offline cache isolation/refresh. - Earlier feature build exercised on a physical iPhone with existing account/community data; review follow-ups have not been reinstalled on the device. UIKit agent-row accessibility checks passed on an iOS simulator. - Earlier cross-platform `just ci` stopped on the existing `buzz-acp` test `signals_cancel_startup_turn_and_pending_stdin_without_hanging` (process exit-code assertion); no Rust production changes are included in this PR. ### Remaining review limitation Agent discovery is bounded to 10 pages / 1,000 profiles with automatic retries disabled. Owner-scoped discovery remains open because the current relay ignores `#auth` filters; supporting that query requires a relay change. ### Snapshots Sample data, shared Flutter/Android surface. Use native UIKit scrolling for iOS photo carousels (#8361)
Builds on the mobile polish merged in #8359; this PR now targets `main`. On iOS, inline photo galleries now use a UIKit collection view for dragging, deceleration, and snapping. Photo taps retain the existing full-screen viewer and reply/more actions; gallery scrolling continues to fade the message avatar. The final photo stops at the full message gutter rather than the smaller gap between photos. Android keeps the current Flutter carousel. Visible cells subscribe to continuing frames from Flutter's existing authenticated image providers, preserving animated GIF/APNG/WebP media. Request IDs fence late frames and cancel subscriptions on reuse/disappearance/disposal. A four-slot bound includes retired unresolved loads until their transport terminates. Shared media fetches now use abortable HTTP requests with a 30-second deadline through response-body completion, so stalled requests release their slots without leaving live transports behind; native eager precaching is disabled so it cannot bypass that bound. Frame conversion coalesces to the newest pending frame. Native cells expose photo labels and positions to VoiceOver, support RTL, and preserve the selected photo during resizing. Validation: - Mobile formatting and analysis passed. - Native simulator regression checks passed for geometry, RTL, snapping, taps, frame replacement, cancellation, and resizing. The native CI lane now runs the carousel executable. - Full mobile suite and pre-push gates passed, including two-frame GIF delivery, delayed-provider bounds/cancellation, real HTTP stalled-header/body recovery with four requests maximum, disposal, and unconfigured-push tests. - Signed iPhone Release build of the frame/subscription implementation passed. Physical iPhone testing covered the earlier carousel/gutter revision; the new animation/cancellation changes have local Flutter and native simulator coverage, not a new physical-device journey. Preview-only signing overrides preserve its bundle/Keychain group; production entitlements are unchanged. Local provisioning excludes production push/App Attest capabilities. - Full `just ci` was started but stopped after unrelated Rust/desktop compilation consumed about 5 GB; broad CI is incomplete. Device build required local Xcode 27 workarounds: iOS 16 deployment target and a generated swift-secp256k1 cache compatibility edit. Neither changes repository source. --------- Signed-off-by: kenny lopez <klopez4212@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: Terp <5856f6900e8e0a4e0ea1f4f8d2ee33e4753d2119bc122f94ecafc660b46c0511@buzz.block.builderlab.xyz> |

fix(mobile): polish channel management and iOS Settings (#8171)
## Summary Use native iOS sheets for channel editing and Add Members, with profile avatars, matching search, and destructive removal dialogs. Canvas content becomes a tappable preview with Add/Remove actions. Fix the Settings availability menu and clipped copy confirmation. Align channel action messages with chat styling and keep agent identities distinguishable across selection, attribution, and profile surfaces. ### Related issue No duplicate found in the existing mobile Settings/channel issues and PRs. ### Testing - Flutter analysis, formatting, file-size checks, focused collision regressions, and the full mobile test suite passed. - Production UIKit picker simulator check passed: distinct visible/accessibility labels, avatar updates, selected rows, and pubkey callbacks. Wired into Mobile Swift CI. - Original UI was built and tested on the physical iPhone with author confirmation; profile/community data preserved. - Review fixes await renewed author device confirmation before restoring `buzz-review-completed` and ready-for-review status. --------- Signed-off-by: kenny lopez <klopez4212@gmail.com> |

fix(mobile): polish photo carousels and video viewer controls (#8079)
## Summary - Keep neighboring carousel photos visible, add page-change haptics, and reuse appearance-style dots with native iOS glass and grouped actions. - Refine full-screen video controls with fading transport, cycling speeds, pinch-to-zoom, and double-tap reset before swipe-to-dismiss. ### Related issue N/A. Checked recent open PRs; repository issue search was unavailable. ### Testing - Mobile analysis/format checks, file-size guards, and full Flutter suite passed (2,680 tests; 4 skipped). - Built, installed, and manually verified on the connected iPhone. - `just ci` was attempted but blocked fetching a Rust dependency because this Mac could not connect to GitHub. --------- Signed-off-by: kenny lopez <klopez4212@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: klopez4212 <klopez4212@gmail.com> |

feat(mobile): add animated community switcher (#8076)
## Summary Replace the community switch sheet with a two-column picker. Selection enlarges the avatar, waits with the voice-note loader for destination channel content and layout to settle, then follows a curved path into the header. Cache raster icons at a maximum 512-pixel size and accept only resource-free emoji SVGs. Cancel timed-out or disposed downloads without delaying content readiness. Animate Edit badges in place, and open Add Community on the pairing welcome page. Community removal lives only in the switcher’s Edit mode. Keep the flow shared across Android/iOS, with native iOS controls and removal confirmation, and clear navigation backgrounds at rest. ### Related issue Related to #8070 (community icon refresh/caching). ### Testing - 122 focused Flutter regression tests and seven native iOS tests passed after merging the latest navigation changes from `main`. Earlier feature build installed and launched on a physical iPhone. - Full mobile pre-push checks passed; regression coverage includes gradient rendering, rejected/oversized icons, bounded persisted raster decoding, SVG resource rejection and cache migration, timeout/disposal cancellation, disconnected destination channels, degraded unread-history settlement, and switching while icons refresh. Full `just ci` stopped during Rust checks for low disk space. Hosted CI remains required. - [Grid and Edit previews](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/8076#issuecomment-5977838957). --------- Signed-off-by: kenny lopez <klopez4212@gmail.com> |

Use native iOS navigation bars with large titles and avatars (#8052)
## Summary Use UIKit navigation bars across iOS pages, with large titles that collapse into the toolbar on scroll and a light native blur. Home uses the active community name as its title and shows community and profile avatars with centered emoji and stable loading, without flashing back to icons. Channel headers retain the member count, tap-to-settings title, and Huddle action. Their ultra-thin native material has a soft lower edge and stays visible at the timeline bottom. The hidden title-layout scroll view has its automatic edge effects disabled so it cannot add a second backdrop. | Expanded Home | Scrolled Home | Settings | | --- | --- | --- | | <img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/block/buzz/47a77d3ff1d30fc74f7488c1a4427e41bbb85c4e/pr-8052--home.png" alt="home" width="240"> | <img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/block/buzz/47a77d3ff1d30fc74f7488c1a4427e41bbb85c4e/pr-8052--scrolled.png" alt="scrolled" width="240"> | <img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/block/buzz/47a77d3ff1d30fc74f7488c1a4427e41bbb85c4e/pr-8052--settings.png" alt="settings" width="240"> | Channel title, member count, and Huddle control: <img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/block/buzz/47a77d3ff1d30fc74f7488c1a4427e41bbb85c4e/pr-8052--channel.png" alt="Channel navigation" width="280"> ### Related issue No matching open issue found. ### Testing - Added causal regressions for Profile/Edit Photo native titles, metrics-only collapse changes, and native-header suppression throughout channel/thread reaction and action backdrops. Each regression fails when its corresponding fix is removed. - Mobile formatting and analysis passed. Full mobile test rerun passed: 2,622 tests, 4 skipped, plus 3 push-disabled build tests. - Native iPhone Air regression passed: repeated title expansion/collapse and scroll material behavior. - Navigation and blur were accepted on the connected iPhone using the existing profile. Simulator snapshots use real community data. feat(push): make gateway origin configurable (#7261)
Make the push gateway origin configurable across the relay, gateway, mobile client, and deployment chart. This is a fresh deployment. The gateway has only run on personal development infrastructure, and push has no existing enabled users. Legacy migration, configured-to-unconfigured mobile transitions, and rolling upgrades from pre-launch gateway binaries are not supported. Populated pre-launch databases are rejected with an informative error before migrations run; their data is untouched. Mobile builds may omit the gateway URL, leaving push unavailable. Once push is enabled, subsequent builds must retain that configuration. ### Validation - All applicable CI checks pass at `5f546cfaf403f0386f146d213adfb4392f4ec29c`, including Rust, mobile/Swift, desktop/integration, security, image builds, and Helm checks. An unrelated agent cancellation test passed on retry. - PostgreSQL CI passed 384 tests, including the production-entry-point regression for refusing populated pre-launch databases before migrations, fresh initialization, and subsequent initialized deployments. - Focused local validation passed all 10 gateway PostgreSQL tests under the CI discovery filter and all 3 unconfigured-mobile tests. Repository-wide PostgreSQL discovery validation and the complete pre-push hooks passed. - Physical-device APNs/App Attest behavior and deployment to a live cluster were not verified in this work. --------- Signed-off-by: Tom Brow <tomb@block.xyz> Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com> |

fix(mobile): isolate extension linker flags; complete iOS build in CI (#7187)
### What changed? Clear inherited linker flags on the NotificationService target in Debug, Release, and Profile. The extension continues to link BuzzPushKit through its target framework phase, while Runner retains its CocoaPods plugin flags. Extend the macOS mobile CI lane to install Flutter dependencies and build the complete unsigned iOS Release app. This exercises the production Flutter, CocoaPods, Runner, BuzzPushKit, and NotificationService build graph on every mobile change. ### Why? The iOS 0.16 RC archive exposed that NotificationService inherits Runner-only CocoaPods linker flags through the shared Flutter xcconfig. That made the extension link Flutter plugins without the Flutter engine and fail on unresolved Flutter symbols. The previous CI coverage built only the standalone BuzzPushKit package, so it could not detect an app or extension linker regression. ### How is it tested? - A complete unsigned Release build of the Runner scheme succeeded with Xcode and linked, embedded, and validated `NotificationService.appex`. - The new GitHub Actions lane builds the full unsigned iOS Release app with `flutter build ios --release --no-codesign --no-pub`. - Pre-commit and pre-push hooks passed. --------- Signed-off-by: Tom Brow <tomb@block.xyz> Co-authored-by: Codex <noreply@openai.com> |
