fix(relay): exclude ephemeral activity from message quota (#7736)
## Summary Stop charging ephemeral WebSocket activity against the per-minute `Messages` quota. Presence, typing, and observer traffic should not consume the allowance intended for persistable event attempts. - Use the existing `buzz_core::kind::is_ephemeral` predicate (kinds `20000..=29999`) at the second admission gate. All authenticated EVENT/REQ/COUNT traffic still consumes the shared `WsEvents` budget first. Non-ephemeral EVENT attempts remain charged, including attempts later rejected by authorization or validation. - Add bounded `bucket` labels (`messages`, `ws_operations`, `api_calls`) to `buzz_admission_rejections_total`. HTTP changes are metric labeling only. Wire rejection text remains byte-for-byte unchanged, preserving existing client parsers. - Add real-Redis admission regressions and select them in the existing relay integration CI job. No quota increases, identity/keying changes, client changes, new limiter, or deployment. Downstream authorization and fail-closed Redis behavior are unchanged. ### Related issue Duplicate search found overlapping work: open #4912 and closed #4902. They propose the same ephemeral-accounting correction alongside broader wire/client/config changes. The relay fix is a deliberately narrower four-file implementation on the current admission module, with metrics-only diagnostics and real-Redis regression coverage. A separate test-only CI repair is documented below. It does not close or claim to supersede those PRs. Related symptom: #7411. This PR does **not** resolve subscription bursts exhausting the shared WS budget; that budget is intentionally preserved. It also does not establish or fix the cause of HTTP quota exhaustion. ### Testing Validation ran against base `779af8886caae1317b4de962082429867ab61503` plus the exact patch now committed as `70ea0528594e25e6dcb40cd74620bd5ef0177592` (binary diff SHA-256 `5064e1cbb87ecb9eff10336bae14b912cac442e1edc247aa4f093de30e4f9717`). Normal commit/push hooks subsequently passed on the committed head, without bypass. Passed: - Independent review and rerun: 11 rejection tests (including real Redis) plus 4 admission tests. Covers ephemeral range boundaries, human/agent budgets, persistable events, ephemeral admission after message exhaustion, mixed EVENT/REQ/COUNT flood exhaustion, Redis outage, exact wire payloads, and bucket metrics. Three mutations were caught: reintroducing ephemeral billing, exempting stored events, and bypassing WS rejection. - `just test-unit`: all 17 runner groups; `just test-integration`: all 3 runner groups. Auth integration reported no tests; ignored database integration tests are not claimed as executed. - Relay all-target Clippy, formatting, workflow actionlint, pre-commit/signoff hooks, and all applicable pre-push lanes (`push-head-scope`, `branch-skew`, `file-size-check`, `rust-tests`, `desktop-tauri-checks`). - Release relay/CLI/admin build and isolated release-binary workflow: channel creation, signed root/reply sends, exact-ID readback, and thread retrieval. Debug and release WS smoke admitted three presence events with a Messages limit of two, admitted two persistable events, rejected the third, still admitted presence afterward, and rejected author mismatch. Debug Prometheus confirmed `bucket="messages"`. **Outstanding validation gap:** the additional `cargo test -p buzz-relay --no-fail-fast` run was not green: library 1,055 passed / 2 failed / 100 ignored; binary 13 passed / 1 ignored; boot integration 9 passed. Failures were `api::mesh_demo::tests::demo_join_forwarded_arm_round_trips_echo` (504 instead of 200) and `telemetry::tests::trace_context_lookup_does_not_enable_callsites` (tracing assertion). Neither failure was diagnosed or repaired in this scope, and this PR does not claim a fully green package suite. `just ci` was not run locally; hosted CI remains to validate the PR. All runtime tests used isolated local services. Owned services have been stopped; nothing was deployed and no production data was touched. ### CI cancellation-test repair At the original relay head, hosted Rust unit tests failed on the pre-existing cancellation harness race tracked in #4945. With owner authorization, this PR now adapts the one-file repair from #5003 (original commit `cc8dc6124957acfd67fe2336396b58e0ff43ec60`), preserving author credit. #5003's old hosted workflows failed without starting jobs; their status is not used as validation evidence. Commit `55fe5f16618a51d03ad48d6f2f97b2f8b463607a` holds the fake provider response until a successful cancellation acknowledgement, then replays all pre-acknowledgement usage/prompt frames in order. It retains the cancellation and usage-before-response assertions and explicitly requires prompt completion. No production code changes in this follow-up. Validation on parent `70ea052859` plus this test patch, before the pre-commit-only assertion wrapping: full `cargo test -p buzz-agent --no-fail-fast` passed (715 tests, one ignored); 100 targeted repetitions passed with four concurrent workers; all-target buzz-agent Clippy passed. The unmodified parent also passed 50 local repetitions, so this is not claimed as a local reproduction of the intermittent CI failure. The synchronization defect was confirmed from the source, original CI log, and #4945. Hosted CI must validate the updated head. Independent source review cleared exact commit `55fe5f16618a51d03ad48d6f2f97b2f8b463607a`. Normal pre-commit/signoff and all applicable pre-push hooks passed without bypass. The original relay-package mesh-demo and telemetry failures remain disclosed above and were not modified by this test-only repair. --------- Signed-off-by: Wes <wesbillman@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Carl <32a2e2c9d428ee08902cab75d956da2c1d235a22d4766b0dd4138bf6e2e5db1d@buzz.block.builderlab.xyz> Co-authored-by: kiranmagic7 <262980978+kiranmagic7@users.noreply.github.com> |

feat(buzz-agent): add DatabricksAuthCoordinator single-flight OAuth (#5545)
## What
Consolidates all Databricks OAuth acquisition behind one coordinator on
`PkceOAuthTokenSource`. Every entry point — the four `TokenSource`
methods (`bearer`, `bearer_no_browser`, `refresh_now`,
`interactive_login`) plus the public `acquire_with_intent` — routes
through a single `acquire()`/`acquire_locked()` core that owns browser
and cooldown policy.
Before this, acquisition logic was scattered across those methods with
no coordination: concurrent callers (Desktop discovery, the saved-agent
model picker, managed-runtime inference) could each pop their own
browser, and a just-denied attempt would immediately re-prompt on the
next passive read.
## How
- **Intent policy.** `AuthIntent::{Auto, UserInitiated, Headless}`
decides whether a caller may open a browser and whether it honors the
cooldown. `Headless` never browses; `Auto` browses but honors an
unexpired cooldown; `UserInitiated` browses and bypasses+clears the
cooldown.
- **Two-layer single-flight per cache key.** An in-process registry
(`INFLIGHT`) coalesces same-key, same-intent callers onto one leader's
attempt before the file lock. The slot key is `(lock_path, AuthIntent)`,
so a `UserInitiated` sign-in never inherits an `Auto` leader's result. A
joined result is revalidated against the waiter's own contract. Across
processes, callers serialize on a `flock`-based advisory lock and share
success through the on-disk cache. RAII `Drop` releases both lock and
leader slot.
- **Joiner credential-state reconciliation.** `SlotPublish` carries the
full `CachedToken` on success. Each joiner reconciles its own
independent `state` cell under `state.lock().await` before returning:
adopt when absent, expired, or matching the joiner's rejected
credential; preserve any distinct newer usable credential. On a matching
shared failure, neutralize the joiner's in-memory rejected entry under
lock via `expire_rejected_memory` — durable disk mutation is reserved
for `acquire_locked` under the cross-process file lock. Without this, a
joining source's state remains stale or empty and subsequent plain
`bearer()` calls resurface the rejected or absent credential.
- **Validate-before-persist boundary.** `finish()` is the
candidate-token persistence boundary for refresh and browser results.
Before a token is written to cache or the cooldown is cleared, a bearer
equal to the caller's rejected bytes yields a typed failure.
- **Token neutralization.** When `acquire_locked` enters with `rejected
= Some(bytes)`, it calls `expire_rejected()` under the state lock before
any cache check.
- **Cross-process failure single-flight.** An `AttemptRecord` sidecar
records a monotonically-increasing generation, intent, result code, and
SHA-256 digest of the completing caller's rejected token. Adoption is
temporal (pre-queue snapshot predates current generation) and
digest-matched.
- **Typed outcomes.** `AuthError` with stable `code()`/`from_code()`
replaces display-text matching.
- **Durable cooldown sidecar.** Every failed browser attempt is recorded
next to the cache key. 5-minute expiry.
- **Windows disk persistence disabled.** On non-Unix platforms,
`persist()` is a no-op. Lock, cooldown, and attempt sidecars are active
on all platforms. Tests that seed or assert on the on-disk token cache
are `#[cfg(unix)]`-gated.
- **Injected browser opener** invoked while the localhost callback
listener is live.
## Tests
- `crates/buzz-agent/tests/databricks_auth_coordinator.rs`:
browser/cooldown/classification acceptance matrix with a scripted
`BrowserOpener` and stub OIDC provider. P1 regressions exercise the full
`finish()` → `acquire_locked()` → `acquire_leader()` →
`LeaderGuard::complete()` → joiner wiring:
- `test_inprocess_joiner_reconciles_stale_state_after_shared_success`
(Unix): two real sources both loaded locally-fresh-but-rejected X; after
shared success Y, subsequent plain `bearer()` on both returns Y, not X.
-
`test_inprocess_joiner_neutralizes_rejected_on_matching_shared_failure`
(Unix): B's matching rejected X is force-expired in memory after shared
`RefreshRejected`; subsequent read cannot return X.
- `test_inprocess_joiner_populates_empty_state_no_second_acquisition`
(non-Unix): empty A/B join a browser success; B's subsequent headless
read returns Y without a second browser (no disk fallback on non-Unix
exposes the regression).
- `test_crossprocess_userinitiated_waiter_adopts_predecessor_denial`
(snapshot-marker barrier replacing an earlier sleep for deterministic
generation ordering).
- `auth.rs` in-crate tests: lock-primitive edges, disk-recheck on shared
failure (`#[cfg(unix)]`), and:
- `test_joiner_reconciliation_blocked_until_state_lock_released`:
deterministic direct-poll proof that awaited reconciliation requires
`state.lock().await`. The test task holds B's state mutex and manually
polls a pinned real `acquire()` future — Poll 2 (slot published, mutex
still held) must return `Pending` because `lock().await` blocks; with
`try_lock` instead, Poll 2 returns `Ready`, failing the assertion.
- `test_joiner_preserve_distinct_newer_credential`: deterministic direct
polling parks B at `slot.wait()`, then writes Z directly into B's state
in the same task, then publishes Y and awaits completion. B must return
Y but leave state == Z. Mutation check: unconditional adoption
overwrites Z with Y, failing the state assertion.
- `test_joiner_shared_failure_recovers_disk_replacement` (Unix): the
matching-failure joiner enters the recovery branch — after
`expire_rejected_memory` (in-memory, empty state no-op) it reads a
sibling-written disk replacement via `usable_from_disk` and returns it.
Mutation check: removing the `usable_from_disk` recovery branch returns
`Err(RefreshRejected)`.
- `test_joiner_failure_does_not_write_disk` (Unix): byte-for-byte
disk-invariance regression — a matching-failure joiner calls
`expire_rejected_memory` and must not touch the on-disk cache. An
independent process C may write a valid replacement between A's failure
and B's reconciliation; this guard ensures B's unfenced in-memory
neutralization cannot overwrite C's concurrent disk write. Mutation
check: reverting to `expire_rejected` rewrites the file (`expires_at =
0`), changing the bytes and failing the assertion.
- `test_lock_timeout_leaves_cooldown_sidecar_byte_for_byte_untouched`: a
waiter past its deadline returns `LockTimeout` before entering
`acquire_locked`; the cooldown sidecar bytes are unchanged. Documents a
pre-lock limitation: `LockTimeout` callers do not neutralize state or
sidecars.
## Scope / follow-ups
- **Runtime 401 handling is deferred.** This PR owns acquisition
single-flight and policy.
- **Desktop wiring is Phase 2** (not in this PR's boundary). Confined to
`crates/buzz-agent/`.
- **Windows DACL** is a follow-up once the `windows-sys` binding is
available.

feat(buzz-agent): gate LLM tool calls on session/request_permission (#5712)
## Summary
buzz-agent now authorizes every LLM-issued MCP tool call through
`session/request_permission` before it executes, instead of running
tools unconditionally. The agent **always asks**; the client applies
`BUZZ_ACP_PERMISSION_POLICY` and answers. buzz-agent never reads the
policy — this keeps the policy decision on the client side, matching the
layering of the other ACP harnesses, and avoids duplicating policy logic
that would drift.
### Broker
A crate-local `PermissionBroker`
(`crates/buzz-agent/src/permission.rs`), owned by `App` for the
connection lifetime, owns the full request-correlation lifecycle:
- **Process-wide admission.** A global `Semaphore`
(`BUZZ_AGENT_MAX_PENDING_PERMISSIONS`, default 32, validated `>= 1`) is
acquired *before* any correlation entry is inserted. This is the
security bound: the per-turn tool semaphore is constructed fresh per
turn and `max_sessions` is unbounded by default, so neither bounds
simultaneously-outstanding asks process-wide.
- **Abort-safe cleanup.** A successful admission returns a
`PendingPermission` lease that owns the admission permit and the
correlation id. Its `Drop` synchronously removes the still-pending entry
and releases the slot, covering task abort/panic that bypasses the
normal `run_prompt` tail.
- **At-most-once resolution.** `deliver` claims (removes) the entry
*before* waking the waiter, so each id resolves once and a later lease
`Drop` is a no-op. Unknown/late ids are logged and dropped; only ids the
broker minted (`perm-<n>`) are recognized.
- **Single absolute deadline.** Admission, request enqueue, and response
wait all share one deadline (`BUZZ_AGENT_PERMISSION_TIMEOUT_SECS`,
default 330s, validated `>= 1`), so a saturated call cannot outlive one
timeout window even when a stalled writer blocks the enqueue.
Cancellation races inside every wait — resolution never depends on the
outer abort drain. A writer that dies mid-connection (stdout closed, or
a blocking write that only surfaces its error at flush) is
connection-fatal: it cancels all sessions, which resolves any ask
waiting on a reply that can never be written.
### Wire
`request_permission_params` (`crates/buzz-agent/src/wire.rs`) is
version-aware, keyed on the protocol version negotiated at `initialize`
and stored on `App` for the connection lifetime (never derived from a
later mutable session field). v2 nests the tool call under `subject:
{type: "tool_call", toolCall}` with top-level `title`/`options`; v1 uses
the legacy top-level `toolCall`. No hybrid shape. Both offered options
(`allow_once`, `reject_once`) carry `optionId == kind`, so the client's
`kind`-based selection and this side's `optionId`-based predicate agree
without a lookup table.
### Gate
In each spawned tool task (`crates/buzz-agent/src/agent.rs`) the
sequence is: acquire per-turn permit → argument-shape validation →
broker admission + request + wait → cancellation recheck →
`emit_in_progress` → `mcp.call`. Argument-shape validation is hoisted
out of `mcp.rs::do_call` into `validate_arg_shape` so a malformed
non-object argument is rejected locally without prompting for a call
that could never execute.
Authorization is fail-closed, stated once in `evaluate`: execute IFF
`outcome.outcome == "selected"` **and** the selected `optionId` equals
the offered allow option. Every other shape (reject, cancelled, JSON-RPC
error, malformed, unknown outcome, wrong/unknown option, timeout,
wire-channel closure) denies with a synthetic tool error, and the turn
continues.
### Scope
Only LLM-issued MCP calls are gated. The built-in `load_skill` tool and
`call_hooks` lifecycle calls (`_Stop`, `_PostCompact`) are exempt — they
are not model-issued. `readOnlyHint` is never treated as a security
boundary.
First cut ships `allow_once`/`reject_once` only; session-scoped grants
are deliberately out of scope.
### Related issue
Part of #4938. This PR and
[#5106](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/5106) jointly implement the
feature: #5106 is the client-side policy engine and permission cards;
this PR is buzz-agent's asking side (`session/request_permission`).
Neither closes #4938 alone.

fix(agent): recover from unsupported image input instead of poisoning the turn (#4896)
## Problem
`buzz-dev-mcp` advertises `view_image` to every agent regardless of
whether the session's model accepts images. When a text-only model (e.g.
DeepSeek V4 Flash) takes the bait, the image lands in session history
and every subsequent LLM request 404s with `No endpoints found that
support image input`. The error was classified as `LlmModelNotFound` and
propagated fatally out of the turn loop — history stays poisoned,
buzz-acp retries the batch with exponential backoff, and the session
burns its entire clock doing no work. In a recent trial run, **all 57
trials that called `view_image` on a text-only model died this way; none
recovered.**
## Fix
Capability-gating the advertised tool isn't reliable — there is no
image-capability metadata at the agent layer across providers. Instead,
recover at the turn loop:
- **Typed error**: new `AgentError::UnsupportedImageInput`, classified
narrowly on the exact provider phrase `No endpoints found that support
image input` on both the generic 404 path and OpenRouter's 404 path.
Unknown-model 404s and OpenRouter parameter-routing 404s keep their
existing classifications. No deterministic retry.
- **In-turn recovery**: on this error, `RunCtx::run` strips every image
block from history — keeping the tool result (and therefore
tool-call/result pairing) intact — marks the result `is_error`, appends
actionable model-facing guidance ("The current model does not support
image input. The image was removed from conversation history so this
turn can continue. Use a text-based inspection tool…"), and continues
the same turn. Base64 never replays again.
- **Loop guard**: recovery only fires when at least one image was
removed; if the provider says "image" and history has none, the error
propagates as before.
## Tests
- Unit: phrase classification (typed, not retried; unknown-model 404
unaffected), idempotent image-to-error history mutation preserving call
IDs and text.
- End-to-end (`fake_llm.rs` + `fake_mcp.rs`): tool call → MCP image
result → 404 unsupported-image → same-turn recovery. Captured requests
prove round 2 carried the image, round 3 replays no image, carries the
guidance text, preserves pairing, and ends `end_turn`.
- Loop guard: typed unsupported-image error with **no** image in history
fails after exactly one provider request instead of spinning —
mutation-testing showed deleting the `removed == 0` guard survived the
suite, and `max_rounds` defaults to unlimited in production, so this
branch needed direct coverage.
Verified at `a210305019b33d5f56677b4c82bab79e4ac52d24`: `cargo test -p
buzz-agent` (full package, 381 unit + all integration suites) green;
`clippy --all-targets -D warnings` green; `fmt --check` green; pre-push
hooks (rust-tests, desktop-tauri-checks, branch-skew) green.
**Scope of the classification guarantee**: the classifier runs in the
shared `post()` (which Anthropic and OpenAI paths route through) and in
`openrouter_post()` — i.e., every 404 path in `llm.rs`. It only runs on
404 responses; providers that reject images with a different status
(e.g. a 400) are out of scope for this PR — see the review-comment
discussion for why broadening the phrase list alone would not cover
them.

fix: report agent usage per provider round, not once per turn (#4545)
## The bug buzz-agent emitted its `usage_update` notification in exactly one place: after `ctx.run()` returned. Until that moment a turn's token counters lived only in the prompt task's stack frame. **A turn killed mid-flight reported nothing at all** — the provider had already billed every round it completed, and no consumer ever saw any of it. That is not a corner case for anything that ends a turn on a clock. It is the normal case for a long-horizon benchmark run that relaunches its agent between phases. ## How big Measured against a provider's own billing ledger over one run's window: | | provider ledger | what we recorded | |---|---|---| | the relaunched lead seat | $485 / 348M tok | $98.99 / 90.3M tok | | the two seats that were not relaunched | $29.90 / 856M | $25.81 / 765M — reconciles | 97% of that run's usage rows came back all zeros, against 1–4% for comparable runs that never relaunch. In one 450-phase trial exactly 7 phases recorded any usage — and each of those carries 177k–437k input tokens, a whole session's worth landing in the one phase that happened to end gracefully. Worth being precise about what was *not* wrong, since both were plausible and both were checked: - **Not pricing.** The rates were verified against the provider's endpoints API and match what we charge. - **Not a truncation bug.** The usage files were intact and internally consistent. The tokens were never captured in the first place. ## The fix The run loop now emits a session-cumulative `usage_update` after every usage-bearing provider response, so an interrupted turn has reported everything but its single in-flight request. - **Emitting more than once per turn is already part of the contract.** buzz-acp's `UsageTracker` advances its committed baseline only at publish time, and goose behaves the same way — which is why the tracker was written to tolerate it. - **The turn-start session baseline is snapshotted into `RunCtx`** so the mid-turn figure stays *session*-cumulative. A turn-local number would be discarded by a high-water-mark consumer and lose the turn entirely; there is a test for exactly that. - **Snapshot by value, not a session handle.** The loop reports once per round, and taking the sessions lock on each would serialise concurrent sessions behind one another's provider round-trips. Nothing else advances those counters while the turn holds `busy`, so it cannot go stale. - **One shared `wire::usage_update_payload`** for both call sites, so the mid-turn and end-of-turn shapes cannot drift. A drift there would present as tokens silently vanishing, which is the failure this reporting exists to prevent. ## Why not a SIGTERM handler That was the obvious shape and it does not work. At signal time the counters are not sitting anywhere a handler could reach — they are in the turn's stack frame, and the value the handler would need has not been folded into the session yet. Making usage durable *during* the turn is what actually fixes it; once it is, a handler adds nothing beyond the in-flight request, whose cost is unknown until its response lands. ## Tests - `usage_is_reported_after_each_round_not_only_at_turn_end` — two rounds; asserts the **first** notification carries round 1's counts alone, proving it went out before round 2 returned. - `mid_turn_usage_includes_earlier_turns` — a mid-turn report must be session-cumulative, not turn-local. buzz-agent 18/18 on the `fake_llm` suite, 382 unit. `cargo fmt` / `clippy` / `cargo check --workspace --all-targets` clean. ## Scope Agent-side only, against `main`. The matching harness change — settling usage on the timeout path, which was skipped on the reasoning that an incomplete turn has nothing to flush — is **#4553**, against the benchmark branch, since that harness does not exist on `main`. 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) Signed-off-by: Atish Patel <atish@squareup.com> Co-authored-by: Claude Code <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(agent,acp): wire provider total_tokens through NIP-AM publish chain (#3593)
## What Wires genuine provider-reported `total_tokens` through the full buzz-agent → buzz-acp publish chain so kind-44200 events carry real per-turn and cumulative totals for OpenAI-backed models, while preserving all existing behaviour for Anthropic and external harnesses (goose, claude-code). ## Why Live prod data showed 0 of 1,934 archived reports carry `totalTokens`. Both hardcoded `total_tokens: None` in `pool.rs` and the absent field in `buzz-agent`'s parser are root causes. This is the backend half of a two-track fix; the display-fallback half lands in [#2035](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/2035). ## Changes **`crates/buzz-agent/src/types.rs`** - Added `total_tokens: Option<u64>` to `LlmResponse` with an explicit doc comment that NIP-AM forbids deriving it. - Added `TurnTotalState` enum (`Unseen | Exact(u64) | Unknown`) with `fold()` and `exact_value()` — the tri-state accumulator that distinguishes not-yet-observed from permanently poisoned. **`crates/buzz-agent/src/llm.rs`** - `parse_responses` and `parse_openai`: read `usage.total_tokens` from OpenAI Chat Completions (including Databricks routes) and the Responses API via `sum_usage`. - Anthropic: explicit `total_tokens: None` — no genuine total available; NIP-AM forbids summing categories. **`crates/buzz-agent/src/agent.rs`** - Added `turn_total_state: &'a mut TurnTotalState` to `RunCtx`. - Fold `response.total_tokens` into the accumulator after each usage-bearing response; non-usage-bearing responses (keepalive/stream frames) do not poison. **`crates/buzz-agent/src/lib.rs`** - Added `accumulated_total_state: TurnTotalState` to `Session` (default `Unseen`). - Per-turn state passed to `RunCtx`, folded into session cumulative after each turn. - Emits `accumulatedTotalTokens` in `usage_update` only when cumulative is `Exact(n)`. **`crates/buzz-acp/src/usage.rs`** - Added `accumulated_total_tokens: Option<u64>` (serde default) to `UsageUpdatePayload` — optional for goose compat. - Added `last_total: Option<u64>` to `SessionState`. - Added `turn_total_tokens` and `cumulative_total_tokens` to `TurnUsage` (field-local — never affect `delta_reliable`). - Derive turn-total delta only when prev and current are both `Some` and monotonic; absence, decrease, or no baseline leaves only the total delta null without touching input/output reliability. **`crates/buzz-acp/src/pool.rs`** - Replaced both hardcoded `total_tokens: None` in `publish_agent_turn_metric` with `usage.turn_total_tokens` and `usage.cumulative_total_tokens`. ## Tests 20 new tests across the four touched files: | File | Tests | |------|-------| | `types.rs` | `TurnTotalState` fold, accumulation, exact_value, default (7 tests) | | `llm.rs` | Chat present/absent, Responses present/absent, Anthropic always-None (5 tests) | | `usage.rs` | First turn no baseline, second-turn delta, cumulative decrease (field-local), current absent, goose-shaped deserialization, baseline absent (6 tests) | | `pool.rs` | Exact turn+cumulative mapping, null totals never derived (2 tests) | `cargo test -p buzz-acp -p buzz-agent` — all passing, 0 failures. ## Scope Boundary: `crates/buzz-agent/**` + `crates/buzz-acp/**` only. Desktop unchanged. `costUsd` explicitly out of scope.
