fea02d174d fix(ios): fetch profiles and avatars in notification extension (#8369)
A notification can arrive from someone whose profile the main app has
never loaded. The iOS notification extension now fetches and caches
sender profiles, channel details, and avatars itself. The main app
supplies account configuration and Keychain credentials only.

After resolving the message, the extension allows 1.5 seconds for sender
and channel details. It uses available stale data when a refresh is slow
or fails, delivers once, and lets late results update its private cache.
Profiles, channel details, and avatar refresh checks share a one-hour
freshness threshold. A verified avatar removal clears the previous
image. Account removal prevents further use of that sign-in's cached
data.

Profile, channel metadata, and membership use separate bounded
downloads, so an oversized roster cannot discard the smaller records.
Sender enrichment can finish while channel requests are pending. A
successful partial channel refresh atomically removes its old
counterpart, preventing a mixed group identity or recipient count.
Group-specific notification presentation still requires a verified
recipient count.

The
[specification](https://github.com/block/buzz/blob/native-notification-enrichment/docs/native-notification-enrichment.md)
describes the display, caching, and account-removal behavior. General
persistent image caching in Flutter remains separate.

### Validation

[Hosted CI](https://github.com/block/buzz/actions/runs/38780108487)
passed on the final commit, including all Flutter shards, Android, the
full iOS release and simulator builds, and native
controls/push-navigation tests. The [current-commit security
review](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/8369#issuecomment-6197508385)
found no issues.

The native package passed 159 tests, including new coverage for cache
freshness, avatar replacement and removal, sign-in isolation, concurrent
storage, late results, single delivery, bounded downloads, and SVG
validation. A regression test exposed identical HTTP authentication
event IDs for requests in the same second; each request now includes a
unique nonce, matching the Dart and CLI clients.

Full local CI passed before that small authentication fix. The complete
native suite and signed device build passed again on the latest commit,
including response-size limits, overlapping avatar downloads, canonical
relay-origin matching, independent profile/channel refreshes,
account-key changes before and during requests, and a single initial
snapshot read across 64 accounts, signed IPv6 avatar authorities, and
partial channel refreshes. Focused Flutter regression tests passed 198
tests with three configuration-specific skips; seven avatar widget tests
also passed. Flutter analysis is clean, and the notification extension
builds for the simulator.

On an iPhone SE, the notification displayed the sender name, avatar,
channel, and message before the updated main app was opened. Repeat
notifications used a byte-identical private cache. Three notifications
delivered together displayed the avatar after the authentication fix.
The next notification also displayed correctly after terminating the
extension process. The existing generic-push design can select the same
newest unread message for several pushes; this change does not alter
message selection.

![Notification before first app launch after
upgrade](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/block/buzz/37d450855e026178836e2a9e05b0081ebbc3b479/pr-8369--before-first-app-launch.png)

Authenticated HTTP avatar fetching and persistent HTTP cache reuse also
passed on the SE. The first notification downloaded a relay thumbnail.
After terminating the extension and expiring its separate avatar entry,
the next notification displayed the avatar and refreshed that entry
without another media request in the relay logs. The main app remained
unopened throughout. The original app build and test profile were
restored afterward.

Automated tests cover slow and failed requests, stale images, removal,
and account revocation; those cases have not all been exercised on the
phone.

b77ba86262 perf(mobile): cut test wall time and run mobile CI lanes in parallel (#8347)
## Problem

Mobile pushes and PRs are slow.

- **Pre-push takes ~133s on a mobile-only change.** About 115s of that
is `flutter test`, and the finish time is set by a few files that wait
on real clocks.
- `push_presentation_export_test` (75s) and
`push_presentation_recovery_test` (19s) sleep through the full 7.75s
retry backoff.
- `channel_messages_provider_test` (70s) sleeps through recount and
ownership retry backoff on real time.
- **The required Mobile CI job takes ~15–16 min.** It runs tests
(390–430s on a 4-vCPU runner, 2 test files at a time) and then the
Android debug APK build (~400s, no Gradle cache) back to back.
- **Mobile Swift takes 18–21 min.** The unsigned release build (~4.5
min) waits behind the simulator tests.

Pre-commit is ~3s and isn't part of the problem.

## Change

**Tests** (each one still asserts what it did before)
- **Push exports.** Production retries wait through
`debugPushPresentationRetryWait`, which defaults to `Future.delayed`.
The export and recovery tests skip the real waits and assert the exact
250ms → 4s backoff schedule instead. Export fixtures sign each event
once per file.
- **`channel_messages_provider_test`.** Every test runs on `fakeAsync`.
A file-local `test` wrapper keeps the 90 call sites unchanged. Timers
fire in their real order, and a test that waits on work outside fake
time fails instead of hanging. Raising the production retry bound
(`attempt < 2` → `3`) still fails the 5 exhausted-retry tests.
- **`signed qualified caller`.** This test mounts the page 48 times and
opens the profile sheet twice per mount. It now disables the sheet
animation; it asserts which pubkey and labels show, not motion.

**CI**
- **Mobile runs as five parallel matrix lanes:** checks (format,
analyze, unconfigured push test, recipe test), three `flutter test
--total-shards=3` shards, and the Android build. The required `Mobile`
gate still reads the combined result.
- **Android restores a Gradle cache,** which is saved only on pushes to
`main`.
- **Mobile Swift builds the unsigned release** in a parallel lane beside
the native build, tests and simulator checks.

## Validation

Measured locally on an 18-core Mac with warm caches:

| | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| `flutter test` (full suite) | 115s | 74s |
| Summed per-test time | 411s | 307s |
| `push_presentation_export_test` | 75s | 38s |
| `channel_messages_provider_test` | 70s | 22s |
| Pre-push, mobile-only push | 133s | 95s |

- The CI lane timings come from this PR's own run.
- `actionlint` passes, and so do
`scripts/test-ci-required-context-isolation.sh` and
`scripts/ci-required-gates.test.mjs`.
- The pre-push hook (format, analyze, full `flutter test`) passed on
push.

## Not in this PR

- `channel_detail_page_test` (~55s) is now the local long pole.
Splitting it into shard files would let it run in parallel, but it is
one 16k-line library with `part` files, so that is a separate refactor.
- Caching Hermit and pub on macOS would cut ~100s of setup from each
Mobile Swift lane.

7b9551aba8 fix(ios): open push replies in their containing thread (#8294)
Tapping a push notification for a thread reply currently opens the
channel at its parent. Preserve the verified event's direct-parent
thread ID through the iOS notification payload and Flutter bridge so the
tap opens the containing thread and highlights that exact reply, even
when newer replies have arrived. This matches Inbox's destination
selection for nested replies; broadcast replies still open in the
channel.

Closest related work: https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/6159 (original
push-tap routing).

### Validation

- Follow-up
[5b70e1a](5b70e1a5cb)
selects the last valid 64-character ASCII-hex reply marker, matching
relay ingest. Regression tests failed before the fix; all 80 XCTest and
47 Swift Testing tests passed afterward with Xcode 26.5. [Current-head
CI](https://github.com/block/buzz/actions/runs/38607128406) passed,
including Flutter tests, Android build, native package tests, complete
iOS simulator and unsigned release builds, and native accessibility
tests. The [current-head security
review](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/8294#issuecomment-6174205374)
reports no findings. Physical evidence below predates this
validation-only follow-up.

- [Baseline CI on
f465f91](https://github.com/block/buzz/actions/runs/38436936153) passed,
including Flutter and native package tests, Android build, complete iOS
simulator and unsigned release builds, and native accessibility tests.
- Full local validation passed on
[f465f91](f465f9196f),
including 3,215 Flutter tests (four skipped) and three unconfigured-push
tests. The 49 focused navigation tests also passed after the baseline
merge.
- Added coverage for cold/warm bridge delivery, exact reply highlighting
with newer arrivals, direct-parent and broadcast destinations, and
malformed optional thread IDs. The Codex finding for an empty reply
marker is fixed and resolved.
- Physical acceptance passed on the managed iPhone 12 mini using signed
Buzz Dev 10140, built from f465f91 with SDK 26.5. Real push taps and
Inbox opened the same containing thread and highlighted the exact reply.
An older alert retained its target after a newer reply arrived; a
retained alert also worked after terminating the app. Top-level push
navigation reached the channel.
- Installed in place with the existing identity, app data and pairing
retained. No key reset or rotation was performed. Notifications were
restored to off and device control released. Xcode 27 hits an unchanged
dependency compiler error; the matching Xcode 26.5 toolchain built and
signed this tested candidate successfully.

c09730e874 fix(mobile): keep notification toggle usable and match row height (#8223)
Turning Notifications off invalidated the relay capability provider
because it watched the entire saved community. If the redundant NIP-11
request stalled or failed, the switch became disabled and reopening
Settings did not recover it. Discovery now follows community identity
and connection status, so preference and lease bookkeeping retain the
validated capability while a real reconnect still refreshes it. Each
opt-in also starts a fresh active lease immediately instead of waiting
for the old renewal timer. Failed attempts retain their gate until the
retry delay expires, preventing rebuilds from bypassing backoff.

Notifications now has the same single-line height as Set status, with
the full switch hit area and one combined accessibility label. This
follows [#8201](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/8201); no duplicate
open PR was found.

### Validation

Added iOS widget regressions mount the production settings page and push
bootstrap with production storage logic, signing, and lease publication.
They verify a higher-generation active replacement after off/on with
accepted, failed, and pending cleanup, plus closing/reopening Settings,
switch and row taps, 2× text, accessibility, and rediscovery on
reconnect. A gate test verifies that rebuilds cannot bypass failure
backoff. Both UI failures and the missing active replacement were
reproduced before their fixes.

Mobile dependency installation, formatting/static checks, 3,234
configured tests, and three unconfigured-build tests passed. Captures
use the real Flutter settings widget at 375pt width, with synthetic data
and mocked native/network boundaries. Native navigation is outside the
capture. No device installation or deployment was performed.

After merge, validate the candidate on iOS: compare Notifications with
Set status, toggle off then immediately on, close/reopen Settings while
off and turn on, and repeat after reconnect. Confirm delivery resumes
after opt-in.

### Layout

Flutter widget captures with synthetic data; native navigation is
excluded.

868e2f8f32 refactor(push): one app profile per gateway (#8206)
Buzz push currently selects an application profile, such as `dogfood`,
during client registration. We want each gateway to serve one Apple app
configured by the operator instead. This removes profile selection from
the client, relay, and gateway, while allowing internal and public
gateways to use their own Apple identities.

This PR implements that model in the Buzz source and upstream deployment
chart. Discovery, enrollment, grants, and leases no longer carry an
application-profile selector. Each gateway has one configured Apple
application and APNs transport.

The protocol changes are incompatible with the old registration format,
so relays advertise `buzz-push-v1` instead of `nip-pl`. Old clients do
not discover the new push capability. Updated clients use separate
Keychain records and register again. The [push
notes](https://github.com/block/buzz/blob/push-capability-v1/docs/buzz-push.md)
describe the experimental contract.

Landing this PR is the first step. Publish the matching gateway image
and upstream chart, then land the [shared chart
update](https://github.com/squareup/cash-helm-charts/pull/5740) and
[gateway deployment
update](https://github.com/squareup/builderbot-platform-core-infrastructure/pull/1085).
Before cutover, stop old gateway instances and check legacy registration
state. Migrations refuse to proceed if old gateway installations or
active relay leases remain; they do not delete that state.
Physical-device verification remains necessary before production
activation.

### Validation
Gateway and focused Flutter push tests pass, as do the Swift package,
simulator build, and native notification/enrichment tests. A local relay
advertises `buzz-push-v1` without `nip-pl` or `app_profiles`. The
PostgreSQL suite passed 868 tests; its two migration-test failures were
corrected and pass a focused rerun together with the gateway cutover
guard. Chart rendering and release-contract checks pass.

Desktop JavaScript tests, desktop and web builds, native desktop
compilation, mobile analysis/tests, and desktop native tests pass. The
full Rust unit lane and prescribed `just test` command pass, including
workspace integration tests against task-isolated local services. The
production overlay now requires an explicitly supplied APNs topic, with
omission and rendered-value regression coverage. The corrected Swift
checksum assertion passes the complete package suite: 78 XCTest tests
and 42 Swift Testing tests. No physical-device enrollment or production
cutover is claimed.

Local merge validation: the embedded migration test and formatting pass
after reserving profile migration 0060 behind rollback migration 0059.
The local pre-push Rust lane failed ACP timing/steering tests
(`idle_resets_on_stdout_activity`,
`keepalive_resets_idle_past_deadline`, and the failed/missing-outcome
steering tests). ACP and its dependency manifests are unchanged by this
branch; all four pass in an isolated single-thread rerun. The documented
local-check exception skips only the Rust pre-push lane for publication;
required CI remains mandatory. Mobile and desktop pre-push lanes passed.

Combined migration validation: after rollback 0059 landed, the main
merge preserves profile migration 0060 and both embedded migration
assertions. The focused migration test and formatting pass. The next
local push again failed only the unchanged ACP idle/keepalive timing
tests (1053 passed, 2 failed, 3 ignored); other lanes passed.
Publication uses the same documented local Rust-lane exception; required
CI remains mandatory.

Follow-up review fix: removed the legacy profile column from the
copied-lease fixture. All four event-follow-up contract tests pass on
isolated PostgreSQL databases, covering desired and migrated schemas in
dual and app-only modes. Formatting passes. Publication retains the
prior passing local-lane evidence and uses the authorized pre-push
exception for the known unrelated ACP timing failures; required CI
remains mandatory.

70d2ca7760 fix(mobile): tolerate unrelated NIP-11 relay metadata (#8160)
Relay capability additions such as `read_state_snapshot` currently make
mobile push discovery reject otherwise valid NIP-11 documents. This
blocks descriptor-dependent enrollment, lease updates, and remote
revocation.

Read unrelated top-level metadata permissively while preserving
validation of the advertised `nip-pl` extension and the complete push
descriptor. Each returned descriptor value is covered by compatibility
tests; missing or malformed required push fields still fail.

### Validation

- [Codex code
review](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/8160#issuecomment-6049355700)
and [security
review](https://github.com/block/buzz/pull/8160#issuecomment-6049486587)
completed without findings on the final code.
- Added 24 regression cases covering read-state metadata, arbitrary
future metadata, HTTP discovery, missing/malformed push fields, and
invalid extension advertisements. The six compatibility/discovery cases
fail on unchanged main and pass with the fix.
- All 55 focused descriptor, bootstrap, capability, and revocation tests
pass. Mobile formatting and analysis pass.
- Full mobile gate passes: 3,063 tests passed and four skipped with a
configured gateway, plus all three tests for an unconfigured gateway
build and the gateway recipe checks.
- [Current-head
CI](https://github.com/block/buzz/actions/runs/37706738403) passes,
including Flutter tests, Android debug APK compilation, the complete iOS
simulator app, and the unsigned iOS release build.
- Production HTTP descriptor discovery against live personal-relay
metadata passes without enrollment or relay changes.
- Device enrollment, delivery, notification tap, and opt-out remain to
be exercised in the updated iOS candidate. No relay or device state was
changed.

33f54de2dd feat(mobile): organize community and profile settings (#8056)
## Summary

Move Invite, Appearance, and Remove community into a **Community
settings** section in the community-avatar sheet, above the existing
switcher. Keep the sheet untitled and use circle-minus for removal.

Personal Settings groups **Set status** and **Copy public key (npub)**
above an untitled card containing **Display name**, **Profile
description**, and **Edit photo**. Remove the leading icons from status,
public key, and Send identity to desktop; keep the latter in its own
untitled card. Remove the avatar status badge and top Edit action, and
rename the Theme page to **Appearance**. Opening the presence chip
triggers selection haptics; copying plays native iOS success feedback
and confirms with “Public key (npub) copied.”

### Testing

- Mobile formatting, analysis, and file-size checks passed.
- 111 affected widget tests passed; all 48 settings tests passed again
after the final labels and icon changes.
- Final release build installed and launched on a physical iPhone in the
separate Buzz Community preview, retaining its existing test account.
- Full repository `just ci` was blocked by local disk exhaustion during
Rust compilation. The full mobile suite passed (2,609 passed, four
skipped), plus three push-unconfigured tests. The presence and copy
feedback passed focused widget tests and analysis, including native iOS
success-channel coverage.

### Snapshots

fad4ff637a fix(mobile): hide notification settings without relay push capability (#8025)
Hide the iOS Notifications settings section for communities that have
not enabled push unless their relay advertises valid push support. A
build with a configured gateway previously showed the switch even when
the relay could not support push.

Communities where push is already enabled retain an off switch and iOS
Settings recovery during discovery or when push support is unavailable.
The section explains that support is unavailable instead of claiming
notifications will arrive.

Capability discovery keeps its existing refresh behavior. Returning
after at least five seconds in the background reconnects the session and
fetches capability again. Tom explicitly chose this behavior without new
retries, polling, or refresh triggers.

Companion client change for squareup/buzz-releases#104. Related: #7826
(broader notification availability diagnostics).

### Validation

Settings widget tests cover hidden first-time opt-in during loading,
absent capability, and discovery errors. Recovery tests exercise the
real off switch for already-enabled communities in all three states,
verifying persisted opt-out, the native snapshot writer, a durable
pending relay tombstone after failure, and the iOS Settings link. They
also verify that pending recovery stays visible after a relay failure
and disappears only after opt-out confirmation. Tests without a gateway
definition verify hidden first-time settings and disabled native
registration. Mobile analysis and the mobile test suite passed.

b8aa0233f9 perf(mobile): verify notification cache events in background (#7650)
On iOS, Buzz stores verified profile and channel information for the
notification extension. The extension uses this cache to show sender and
channel names. Loading profiles or channels also updates the cache.

Cache updates currently check event signatures on the UI thread, even
when the caller does not wait for the update. This can delay taps and
screen updates. This change moves those checks to a background worker.
Signature checks, event selection, community boundaries, and the order
of native writes are preserved.

The worker accepts up to eight batches. When it is busy, later profile
requests stay coalesced before fetching; profiles already loaded remain
available immediately. Overlapping channel updates trigger a fresh
joined-channel cache snapshot after the current export finishes, without
delaying or restarting the channel screen. Queue saturation gets up to
five retries per operation. Pending updates get their own recovery
attempt even if the preceding export fails. Recovery fetches
joined-channel data once and retries cache admission without repeating
relay reads. It does not fetch the open-channel directory. Verified
payloads are split into native-sized writes (256 profiles or 512 paired
channels), keeping the same export ordering. Native profile/channel
write failures retry the same verified chunk while retaining the
export's queue position. All chunks share five retries with 7.75 seconds
total backoff; other native errors fail immediately. Terminal failures
are recorded, and later successful writes do not hide them. Captured
batches keep their original community. Pending channel refetches are
retired on a community switch and refreshed when the user returns. The
cache remains best effort; prolonged failures can still prevent
delivery.

Tests through the production APIs reduced UI delay from 27–31 ms to
below 0.3 ms for four profiles, and from 59–60 ms to below 0.3 ms for
four channel and membership pairs. The native payloads were identical.
This does not measure overall screen speed.

Validation: 2,225 mobile tests passed (one skipped), along with 18
focused export tests, 12 recovery tests, 39 native Swift tests, 35
focused profile tests, and static analysis. Production regressions cover
13-entity bursts, invalid newer events, community rebuilds, reentrant
refreshes, and terminal failures. Regression tests fail when producer
recovery controls, terminal-failure draining, or member-only recovery
scope are removed.

76f7e5ef0c feat(push): make gateway origin configurable (#7261)
Make the push gateway origin configurable across the relay, gateway,
mobile client, and deployment chart.

This is a fresh deployment. The gateway has only run on personal
development infrastructure, and push has no existing enabled users.
Legacy migration, configured-to-unconfigured mobile transitions, and
rolling upgrades from pre-launch gateway binaries are not supported.

Populated pre-launch databases are rejected with an informative error
before migrations run; their data is untouched. Mobile builds may omit
the gateway URL, leaving push unavailable. Once push is enabled,
subsequent builds must retain that configuration.

### Validation

- All applicable CI checks pass at
`5f546cfaf403f0386f146d213adfb4392f4ec29c`, including Rust,
mobile/Swift, desktop/integration, security, image builds, and Helm
checks. An unrelated agent cancellation test passed on retry.
- PostgreSQL CI passed 384 tests, including the production-entry-point
regression for refusing populated pre-launch databases before
migrations, fresh initialization, and subsequent initialized
deployments.
- Focused local validation passed all 10 gateway PostgreSQL tests under
the CI discovery filter and all 3 unconfigured-mobile tests.
Repository-wide PostgreSQL discovery validation and the complete
pre-push hooks passed.
- Physical-device APNs/App Attest behavior and deployment to a live
cluster were not verified in this work.

f78a32cf03 feat(mobile): hard-block under-18 users on the store age signal (#4665)
### What changed?

Buzz mobile checks the app-store age signal at launch and hard-blocks
the app behind a full-screen 18+ notice when the store says the
signed-in person is under 18.

No age signal (e.g. declined permission, indeterminate value,
unsupported OS versions) results in no block.

The age value is never persisted. It is read, used to compute one
boolean, and discarded. Nothing is written to disk, and neither the age
value nor the range is logged or sent to analytics.

Platform notes:
- **New dependency `com.google.android.play:age-signals:0.0.4`.** This
is the only way to read the Play signal. Its AAR declares `minSdkVersion
23`, below the app's 24, so it forces **no minSdk bump**, and it
self-declares its own consent activity, so **no AndroidManifest change**
is needed.
- **iOS entitlement and linking.** `DeclaredAgeRange` autolinks from the
import. `Runner.entitlements` now declares
`com.apple.developer.declared-age-range`, and the call remains behind
`#available(iOS 26.0, *)`.

### Why?

App stores now expose a declared-age range, and Buzz's Terms require
users to be 18 or older. This wires the store signal to that rule with
the smallest change that is defensible.

Absent signals, declined or undeterminable results, and unsupported OS
versions allow the app through. A transient native request failure does
not become evidence that access is allowed: the app remains gated until
a retry produces a result. Only an affirmative under-18 signal produces
the permanent restriction screen.

### How is it tested?

Added tests:

-
[`age_signal_provider_test`](https://github.com/block/buzz/tree/main/mobile/test/features/age_gate)
covers the 17/18 boundary, open-ended ranges, no-signal, transient
recovery, bounded retry exhaustion, malformed payloads, and request-once
behavior
-
[`age_gate_app_test`](https://github.com/block/buzz/tree/main/mobile/test/features/age_gate)
proves authenticated content remains unmounted while the signal is
pending or retryable, and verifies the retry path
-
[`age_restriction_page_test`](https://github.com/block/buzz/tree/main/mobile/test/features/age_gate)
asserts the block screen offers no bypass affordance
-
[`community_provider_test`](https://github.com/block/buzz/tree/main/mobile/test/shared/community)
verifies age restriction clears push state, persists inactive leases,
and retries a failed tombstone
-
[`AgeSignalPayloadTest`](https://github.com/block/buzz/tree/main/mobile/android/app/src/test/kotlin/xyz/block/buzz/mobile)
pins the Android success payload to exactly `{status, ageUpper}` and
verifies failures return the distinct retryable platform error

### Deployment note

Enable the Declared Age Range capability and regenerate signing profiles
carrying the entitlement. This relops/App Store Connect task is not
performed by this PR.

c432a111ca feat(mobile): push notifications MVP (#6269)
This PR implements MVP, iOS-only,
[NIP-PL](8d2d0ff5ad/docs/nips/NIP-PL.md)-compliant
push notifications.

A relay with `BUZZ_PUSH_ENABLED` will send a push notification for any
message that appears in the in-app Notifications tab.

## Enrollment flow
The first time the client first connects to a relay with
`BUZZ_PUSH_ENABLED`:

    NSE->>iOS: Complete notification: title, body, subtitle<br/>thread ID, exact-message target
```
relay → push gateway → APNs -> NSE -> Notification Center
## Known limitations
The APNs wake payload is intentionally constant and opaque: it contains
no originating community or message identifier, in keeping with the
implemented NIP-PL privacy design.
The Notification Service Extension must therefore reconnect to the relay
and resolve eligible messages after each wake. Around overlapping wakes,
timing boundaries, or resolution windows, notification presentation may
occasionally omit an expected message or display a message more than
once.
This best-effort behavior is deliberately accepted for the current
implementation and will be measured during the internal rollout to
determine whether the user experience is acceptable before any broader
deployment; the implementation does not claim exactly-once presentation.
## Validation
Live end-to-end hardware validation used an internal remotely hosted
development relay and push gateway, the APNs sandbox, and a physical
iPhone 12 mini:
- A second real Buzz client published a uniquely marked message through
the hosted relay.
- The relay matched the message and sent the constant opaque wake
through the hosted gateway. The gateway made an actual APNs request; no
`simctl push` or simulated notification was used.
- The iPhone received the notification on its lock screen. The
Notification Service Extension reconnected to the relay, fetched the
event, verified its ID and signature, and replaced the placeholder
content with the real notification title and body.
- After the app populated its shared presentation cache, a final marked
notification visibly showed the sender display name, sender avatar, and
hashtag-prefixed channel name.
- Tapping a lock-screen notification opened Buzz and exercised the
notification-response path and navigated to the corresponding message.
Final validation with a dogfood-signed artifact and production App
Attest/APNs configuration remains a release step.
